Never Did I know…

Just how hard being away from my baby would be. Tonight is my first shift away from home–away from my little boy.

I hate it. It leaves me with the worst feeling in the world. I can’t describe it at all.
I had no idea something so small and new could have such a strong pull on my emotions.
I love you Asher.
Mrs. M3–I’m sorry I didn’t get you anything for V-day. I promise I will make up for it on your Birthday–next friday(see! I do remember). Thanks for the cards… they were so very sweet.
Take care of our little boy. His daddy misses him…..

Also on MedicThree …

The hardest thing I found after having my first son was how it changes you when you get kids to look after. You can tell a paramedic who has kids by how they interact with babies on scene, this can be a very good thing but it also makes it really hard if you get a bad job with a baby/child.It just hits you harder because you can’t help but think about your own. But it also gives you the best feeling when you go home after a bad job and your own little bundle of joy is waiting for you with his arms stretched out for you. Makes it all the more worthwhile!!

I know what you mean, I feels like your core hurts! And the only thing that makes it better is holding them. Focus on this.. soon you can be home at seven in the morning and literally run to get them as soon as they wake up. It is the best feeling.
